Florida Mortgage Rates – Morning Report

by Florida's #1 Mortgage Planner on February 17, 2009

Locking Stance: LOCKING    Mortgage Bonds: +38bp

Mortgage bonds are off to a good start this morning, but I am not changing my stance since I will be in the air much of the day and unable to provide a constant watch, which I normally provide.

Mortgage backed securities are up today on a number of issues.  This morning’s data play, the Empire State Index was at an all-time low and stocks are selling off, some from this morning’s data, also in part to the selloff overseas yesterday.  There is a chance bonds will back off later as more supply hits the markets in the form of Treasuries.

What does this mean for Florida Mortgage Rates?  Today offers a chance to get slightly lower mortgage rates and may even go lower if they hold today.
